Here’s What My Depression Felt Like
Most of my writing has been about my divorce and I’ve alluded to how depression played a role in that. For me, depression felt like being alone, while surrounded and constantly bothered by people and life. Like getting no chance to breath, while having to simultaneously swim against a current just to survive.
From an outsider’s perspective, I had no reason to be depressed. I had a beautiful family, a good job, a house, the same core group of friends for decades, no childhood trauma, and I had hobbies I enjoyed.
